SikaCeram-260 StarFlex is a deformable tile adhesive mortar with light fillers, for thin and medium layer installation up to 25 mm thick.
Depending on the amount of water added, the mortar can have a consistency ranging from thixotropic mortar to fluid.
EC 1 PLUS label: very low VOC emissions .

Application

1. Apply SikaCeram-260 StarFlex to the substrate using an appropriate notched trowel; depending on the application area or tile format, also apply to the back of the tile/board (double bonding, buttering and floating method).
2. Apply only as much mortar as tiles or slabs etc. can be placed or inserted into the fresh mortar during its open time.
3. Do not moisten the mortar bed with water.
4. Apply enough mortar to wet the back of the tile/slab over its entire surface.
5. Insert the tiles/slabs into the applied mortar bed and press them down.

Consumption depends on the nature of the surface, the type of ceramic coating, the consistency and the installation technique.

FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

1. Can it be used for large format tiles?
   Yes, that's one of its main uses. Its S1 class ensures good flexibility and reduces stress related to the weight and dimensions of the tile. Double gluing is recommended.
2. Is it suitable for underfloor heating?
   Yes, perfectly compatible with hydraulic or electric underfloor heating.
3. Is it suitable for outdoor use?
   Yes, it is resistant to frost, temperature variations and inclement weather. Ideal for terraces, balconies and outdoor stairs.
4. Can it be used on natural stones?
   Yes, but only for natural stones that are not sensitive to moisture. For porous stones, check compatibility.
5. Can you glue something onto old tiles?
   Yes, provided that the old tiles are firmly attached to the substrate, clean, and properly degreased.
6. Which comb should I use?
   Wall coverings ≤ 30×30 cm, 6 mm. Large format tiles, 8 to 10 mm. Slabs > 80×80, double gluing required.
7. What is the water resistance?
   Excellent product; it is water-repellent and resistant to water and immersion. It is suitable for private swimming pools.
8. What is the setting time?
   The product remains open for approximately 30 minutes, with a shelf life in the jar of approximately 4 hours.
