What is epoxy?

Epoxy is a 2 component thermosetting plastic. The two components consist of component A, the base resin and component B, the hardener. After mixing the two components, a chemical process is created. This process ensures the curing of the epoxy resin.

If you use epoxy resins in combination with fiberglass or other fibers, these are called composites. Laminated or cast parts of epoxy resin and composites weigh much less than conventional materials, such as metal, wood or aluminum. In cars and planes, all these classic materials have been replaced by composites. This drastically reduces fuel consumption, which is good for the environment.
