What is Polyester?

Polyester can be both a thermoplastic plastic (melts under the influence of temperature) and thermosetting (hardens under the influence of temperature).

Thermoset polyester is usually reinforced with fiberglass. This is called glass fiber reinforced polyester - GRP or "composite".

These polyester resins generally use two components. They consist of component A, the base resin and component B, the hardener. With polyester resins, you use an MEKP hardener.
