FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Can Sikadur-33 be applied to slightly damp concrete?
Yes - Sikadur-33 tolerates a slightly damp substrate (without standing water).
  2. What is the maximum possible layer thickness?
The recommended thickness is 0.5 mm to 10 mm. Beyond 10 mm, apply in successive layers.
  3. How long do I have before the mixture starts to harden (pot life)?
At +23°C, the pot life is approximately 60 minutes.
  4. How long does it take for the bonding to become strong enough?
    To achieve approximately 80% of performance: at +20°C → ~2 days; at +10°C → ~3 days; at +35°C → ~1 day.
  5. What materials can I bond with Sikadur-33?
Concrete, stone, bricks, mortar, steel, aluminum, wood, polyester, composites, etc.
  6. Does the product shrink as it hardens?
    No, Sikadur-33 cures without shrinkage.
  7. How long can the product be kept in stock?
12 months in sealed packaging, stored away from frost, in dry conditions between +10 and +30°C.
  8. Does the product comply with construction standards?
Yes, it complies with EN 1504-4 for structural bonding.
  9. What to do if you interrupt work and the nozzle becomes blocked?
Release the gun pressure. If the resin hardens in the nozzle, replace the static mixer tip.
  10. Is the product suitable for load-bearing elements or heavy loads?
Yes, it is a high-strength structural adhesive. However, for critical applications or structural design, it is recommended to consult a structural engineer to verify the long-term permissible loads (creep may play a role).
