    FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

    1. Can Sikadur-31+ be applied to a surface that is already damp?
Yes, provided it's "slightly damp" (matte, without a film of water on the surface). No specific primer is needed. However, if the surface is very wet or has standing water, it's not suitable.
    2. Can this product be used outdoors and indoors?
Yes, it is suitable for both environments.
    3. What is the temperature range for implementation?
The ambient and substrate temperatures must be between +10 °C and +30 °C.
    4. Is the product tolerant of splashes or water seepage after hardening?
Yes, once cured, the product offers good impermeability to water vapor and most liquids. However, it is not designed for active (moving) cracks or joints subject to significant movement.
    5. Can this product be applied in a thick layer?
Application up to 30 mm thick in a single layer is possible. Beyond that, it is recommended to apply in several successive layers after intermediate curing, adapting the roughness of the previous layer accordingly.
    6. Does the product contain a lot of VOCs (volatile organic compounds)?
No: the EC1 PLUS label indicates very low VOC emissions. Indoor air emissions are classified A+.
    7. Is it compatible with metal or aluminum?
Yes: among the substrates mentioned are steel, aluminum, and cast iron. Of course, it will be necessary to ensure that the metal is clean, degreased, and possibly pickled, according to standard practices.
    8. Does the mixture need to be very precise?
Yes, respect the ratio (A/B = 2/1 weight or volume) and mix well for homogeneity and to avoid bubbles: components of different colors help to check.
    9. Can the element be peeled off or removed after it has hardened?
No, once hardened, the adhesive is very strong; removal can only be done mechanically.
    10. Is there a mandatory primer or bonding coat?
No, the product is designed to be used without a primer. However, the surface must be properly prepared (clean, dry/matte, dust-free, and free of film) to ensure adhesion.
