Sika Boom-151 Multiposition is a self-expanding, single-component polyurethane foam applied using a nozzle.
Its special formulation, combined with the safety valve , allows for multi-position use (application at any angle).
EC 1 PLUS label: very low VOC emissions.

Areas of application

The product is designed to:

• Insulation and filling of cavities and voids.
• Filling the joints around window and door frames.
• Insulation against cold and drafts.
• Filling around pipes / conduit penetrations.

The product can be used for indoor and outdoor applications.

Application

1. When used for bonding vertical/horizontal building elements, they must be supported until the product has developed sufficient strength.
2. Shake the aerosol can well at least 20 times before use.
3. Repeat the shaking after long interruptions during use.
4. After shaking the can, remove the cap from the Sika Boom-151 Multiposition can and firmly screw the nozzle onto the valve thread without pressing the trigger or the valve.
5. The amount of extruded foam can be regulated by applying more or less pressure to the trigger.
6. Fill the deep joints in several layers.
7. Allow each layer to expand and harden sufficiently before wetting it again with water for the application of the next layer.
8. Only partially fill the gaps/cavities as the foam expands during hardening.
9. Small gaps can be filled using an extension tube, although this will reduce the flow rate of the foam.

FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

1. Can the foam be used in all positions?
   Yes, the foam is specially designed for multi-position application, even upside down.
2. Is Sika Boom-151 foam compatible with all materials?
   It adheres to most surfaces, concrete, stone, brick, wood, PVC, metals, polystyrene… Do not use on silicone, greasy, oily or PE/PP surfaces.
3. Can this foam be used outdoors?
   Yes, but only if it is covered (plaster, mortar, paint) because UV rays can damage it.
4. What is the curing time?
   The foam is non-sticky after approximately 8 to 10 minutes. It can be cut after 25 to 35 minutes. It hardens completely in a few hours, depending on humidity and temperature.
5. What is the shelf life of the bomb?
   Generally 12 to 18 months in a cool, dry place, can stored with valve facing upwards.
6. Can the foam be painted or coated after it has dried?
   Yes, once hardened, the foam can be: sanded, cut, coated, painted or covered with mortar.
7. Is it moisture resistant?
   Yes, after hardening, but application requires a clean and slightly dampened surface.
8. Does the foam expand immediately?
   Expansion begins immediately upon application and continues for a few minutes. Always apply with minimal coverage.
9. Can it be used to attach elements?
   Yes, for light fixings (insulation panels, small structures). It is not a load-bearing foam.
