Sikafloor-151 - Epoxy primer - Sika

Sikafloor-151 is a 2-component, low viscosity, multi-purpose filled epoxy resin used to prime and level concrete or cementitious substrates.
Due to its low odor, the product is well suited for interior applications.

Application domain

• Primer for concrete supports, cement-based screeds and epoxy mortars
• Primer for poorly absorbent to moderately porous substrates
• Primer for Sika floors based on epoxy and polyurethane
• Binder for the production of leveling layers and screeds

Application

1. Pour the mixed product onto the support.
2. Apply the product evenly to the surface using a medium/long nap roller or squeegee.
3. Roll the still wet primer in two perpendicular directions using a medium/long nap roller.
   Always make connections wet to wet to obtain a seamless finish.
4. (Optional) If continuous sprinkling is required, wait 15 to 30 minutes before sprinkling the quartz sand.
   Sprinkle lightly at first, then gradually until saturated.
5. (Optional) As soon as the primer has hardened sufficiently, remove excess sand with an industrial vacuum cleaner.

Consumption

Mixing ratios are in parts by weight.

(°) The following sand mixtures are indicative quantities for the mixture and must be confirmed by preliminary tests.
The particle size distribution for a screed thickness of 15 - 20 mm:

• 25% (parts by weight) quartz sand 0.1–0.5 mm
• 25% (parts by weight) quartz sand 0.4–0.7 mm
• 25% (parts by weight) 0.7–1.2 mm quartz sand
• 25% (parts by weight) 2–4 mm quartz sand

Note: The largest grain in the mix should measure no more than 1/3 of the minimum thickness of the system.
You must choose the most appropriate sand species and quartz sand mixture based on grain shape and application temperatures.

Note: All values are theoretical and do not take into account excess consumption depending on absorption, roughness and flatness of the supports, nor loss of material, etc.
Apply the product to a test area to calculate the correct consumption when applied to the specific support and with the proposed equipment.
