Aquatrol - Wood oil for exterior - Owatrol Pro

Saturator for soft woods , water -based and hybrid resins .
Its gelled form gives it great comfort of application.

Properties :

• “High hold” transparent matte “oiled look” protection, non-film-forming.
• Preserves the natural look of wood over time. Does not darken.
• Easy to apply.
• Gelled: does not flow.
• Does not flake off.
• Practical performance will vary with type, surface condition and absorbency as well as mode of application.
  10 to 15 m²/l per coat.
  About 5 m²/l in multi-coat system.

Substrate preparation:

General guidelines:

• The wood must be clean, dry (3 days of dry weather - maximum humidity of the wood 18%), healthy and prepared according to the rules of the art according to the standards in force - free of dust, mold, grease stains and all old coating.
• If the wood has a significant surface glazing (which affects the penetration of the product) plan a preliminary preparation of the support.

New wood:

• To limit the risk of deformation of the wood, especially for wood treated through the heart, while allowing the opening of their pores, immediately apply a coat of Seasonite. After several months of outdoor exposure (minimum 6 months) apply Aquatrol.

Untreated gray wood:

• Clean with pure Net-Trol.
• Sand the wood if necessary (grain 100).

Gray wood already treated (oiled):

• De-oil with the Net-Trol system.
• Sand the wood if necessary (grain 100).

Previously painted, stained or varnished wood:

• Strip the wood with the Dilunett + Net-Trol system or sand.

(1) Do not use Dilunett or Prepdeck on tannic wood (Oak, Chestnut, Red Cedar...).
Risk of rising tannins. Shell the wood if necessary.

Application :

1. Do not dilute.
   Mix the product well before application.
2. On a prepared substrate, apply a generous coat of Aquatrol in the direction of the wood fibers and over the total length of the plank, emphasizing the ends.
3. Apply a second coat when the wet appearance of the wood disappears (approximately 15 to 30 minutes).
   Never let dry between coats. Apply “fresh on fresh”. Repeat the operation until the substrate is saturated (wood refuses).
4. Smooth the excess product (or even wipe off) before drying to avoid any traces of drips or shine when drying: Aquatrol must be in the wood and not on the surface.
5. In case of spray application, smoothing is always recommended to improve penetration and give a uniform appearance.
   The 'milky' appearance after application disappears after a few minutes.

NB: Commissioning of terraces, pontoons: normal traffic 48/72 hours depending on weather conditions.

• Chalets, cladding, terraces, barriers, garden sheds and all types of wood with strong dimensional variations.
• Autoclaved or non-autoclaved softwoods, including Red Cedar.
• Apply on a clean coating free of any previous coating (or on a suitable Owatrol saturator).
• Horizontal or vertical surfaces.
