Sika FastFix-135 Color D is a high-performance, one-component, fluid, cement -based jointing mortar for paving stones and slabs , for low and high traffic loads.

Application

Pre-moisten

1. Begin 2 hours before application by saturating the surface of the prepared concrete with clean water.
2. Do not allow the substrate to dry during this time. Remove all standing water from the formwork, cavities or small holes.
3. The surface to be treated must have a dark and matte/non-glossy appearance (saturated but dry on the surface).

Laying the mortar

1. Only qualified or experienced pumping operators are authorized to apply the product using a continuous mixing pump.
2. For pumping applications, conduct equipment tests to ensure the product can be pumped satisfactorily before full project implementation.
3. Pour or pump the mixed mortar onto the paving.
4. Use a scraper to spread it and to push the material into the joints.
5. Fill the joint to excess.
6. Immediately after application, scrape off the excess at the face of the paving stones diagonally to the paving stone with a rubber squeegee.
7. Use a cylindrical brush cleaning machine or a mechanical sponge to remove the product from the surface.
8. As an alternative, remove the mortar from the paving stones using a low-pressure water jet equipped with a jet breaker while continuously brushing with a rubber squeegee.
9. Be careful not to dig into the joints/remove too much product from the joints.
10. After the material in the joint has fully hardened, complete the cleaning process using a high-pressure water jet.
