Areas of application

Sikafloor-03 Primer is suitable as a primer on:

• Gypsum and cement-based supports
• Intermediate primer for multilayer systems

Application

1. Apply the undiluted Sikafloor-03 Primer evenly and saturatedly to the dry substrate using a fine-pored roller, for example a foam roller or similar.
2. Avoid the formation of puddles on the surface.
3. Sikafloor-03 Primer can be applied by spraying.

Consumption

~150 g/m2 depending on the absorbance of the substrate and the application equipment.

FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

1. Can SikaFloor-03 Primer be used outdoors?
   No, it is intended for indoor applications only.
2. Can a leveling compound be applied to the primer while it is still damp?
   No, you absolutely must wait for it to dry completely, until the primer becomes transparent. Applying a leveling compound too soon risks blistering, poor adhesion, and surface defects.
3. Is the product dilutable?
   Yes, depending on the surface. For highly absorbent surfaces, dilute 1:1 to 1:3 (water/product). For dense/non-absorbent surfaces, apply undiluted.
4. Can it be applied over existing tiles?
   Yes, provided the tiles are solid, perfectly degreased, and free of hollow-sounding areas. Light abrasion (sanding) is recommended to maximize adhesion.
5. What is the waiting time before applying a leveling compound?
   Between 30 minutes and 2 hours, depending on the conditions. Do not exceed 24 hours without re-covering.
6. Is the product compatible with SikaLevel leveling compounds?
   Yes, it is specifically formulated for SikaLevel systems and other Sika leveling compounds.
7. Can the primer be applied with a sprayer?
   Yes, it's a possible method, but you then have to level it with a roller, avoid excess thickness, and ensure good, even coverage.
8. What is the exact consumption?
   On average 80 to 150 g/m², varying according to the absorption of the substrate, the application method, the dilution.
9. Is the primary fuel compatible with underfloor heating?
   Yes, if the substrate is suitable. The heating is switched off 48 hours before and after application. Maximum temperatures are respected.
