Sika Boom-405 Water Stop - PU foam for waterproof sealing - Sika

Sika Boom-405 Water Stop is a polyurethane insulation foam , 2 components, self-expanding , fast hardening , which does not need ambient humidity to harden.

Its high density and very fine structure of mostly closed cells creates a watertight seal of pipe wall penetrations, ducts or pipe fittings.
The special packaging makes it possible to interrupt the application for a certain time and then to resume it by replacing the nozzle.

Application areas

The product is designed for the waterproof sealing of:

• Openings in the walls for pipes and conduits.
• Cable conduits.
• Pipe connections (eg in manholes).
• Precast concrete elements.
• Pipe plug seals with a diameter of up to 200 mm.

The product can be used indoors and outdoors, above and below ground level.

Application

1. Shake the aerosol well at least 20 times before use.
   Repeat agitation after long breaks in use.
2. Remove the cap from the aerosol.
3. Insert the nozzle into the valve so that the extension tube of the nozzle is pointing in the direction of the arrow.
4. Flip the application lever over the nozzle head.
5. Dispense a small amount to check color.
   Uneven foam color indicates improper mixing of the two parts in the nozzle.
6. If the color is uneven, remove the nozzle and shake the can again 20 times.
7. Fit another nozzle, dispense a small amount of foam and check the color.
   - If the color is uniform, you can proceed with the application.
   Otherwise, repeat the previous two steps.
8. Apply the product by firmly pressing the application lever.
   The valve system is an on/off valve.
   Therefore, dosing is not possible, otherwise mixing errors may occur.
9. Always press firmly and fully on the application lever.
10. Only partially fill voids/cavities as the foam expands during curing.
11. The application can be terminated at any time.
    Replace nozzle before resuming application.
12. Once the aerosol has been opened, it should be used within 2 weeks.

• Foam yield (box) 400 ml aerosol: ~8 l
• Seal yield, 400 ml aerosol: ~9 m
