MN Protection - Water repellent for natural stones - Lithofin

Lithofin MN Protection is a stone impregnator containing high-content, weather-resistant solvents and siloxane compounds.

Lithofin MN-Protection makes treated surfaces water-repellent. Water absorption is reduced by 80% to 98% depending on the type of substrate, but water vapor permeability is largely maintained.

Waterproofing reduces the tendency of facades to become dirty. Floors become easier to maintain. The appearance of the treated coating remains unchanged and does not become shiny, but the color of many stones may slightly increase.

This product is UV resistant and does not yellow.

Outdoors, the impregnation lasts for about 5 years and depends on atmospheric conditions.

Indoors, it lasts almost indefinitely if properly maintained.

Scope of application:

This product can be used both indoors and outdoors for impregnating floors, walls, facades and other works made of absorbent natural stone such as granite, gneiss, porphyry, marble, limestone, sandstone, concrete, etc.

Instructions for use:

• Apply Lithofin MN Protection to the absorbent, dry and clean surface using a clean brush, broom or roller applicator and allow to penetrate.
• For highly absorbent surfaces, repeat the operation after approximately 30 minutes.
• For low-absorbency or polished surfaces, apply Lithofin MN Protection generously, leave to penetrate for 20 to 30 minutes and completely wipe off the excess with a clean cloth.

Please note: Non-absorbent surfaces, such as ceramic tiles, cannot be treated. If in doubt, test on an inconspicuous area first.

Important: Solvent-sensitive surfaces, glass, cabinet varnishes, and plastics must be protected from splashes. Do not use in sunlight or at temperatures above 25°C.

• Siliceous sandstone: approximately 1 to 5 m²/litre
• Rough, sawn granite: 5 to 10 m²/litre
• Granite, polished gneiss: 10 to 20 m²/litre
