Sikaflex-406 KC - Self-Levelling Polyurethane Mastic Joint - Sika

Sikaflex-406 KC is a mastic for floors which is single-component, elastic, self-leveling, of high mechanical and chemical resistance and to which a hardening accelerator can be added.

Rapid and homogeneous polymerization is obtained through the joint by adding Sikaflex-406 KC Booster.
Sikaflex-406 KC is specially designed for elastic joints between rails , adjacent surfaces and with Icosit KC products.

Application areas

• Connection joints between steel, certain types of asphalt, concrete, granite, rails embedded in the track superstructure, roads and soils.
• Movement joints in airport roads and pavements, pedestrian walkways (sidewalks) and other public roads where rapid exposure to traffic is required.

Application

1. To mix, use an electric mixer with a U-shape agitator (~600 rpm).
2. Before adding Sikaflex-406 KC Booster the product should be pre-mixed for approximately 60-90 seconds depending on product temperature.
3. Add Sikaflex-406 KC Booster to Sikaflex-406 KC and continue mixing for 2 to 3 minutes until a uniform color mixture is obtained.
4. Mixing too long and too fast should be avoided to minimize air entrainment.
