Sikaflex-223 is a single-component polyurethane adhesive suitable for a wide variety of supports for interior or exterior applications.
Good adhesion to most substrates , such as: metals , fiberglass reinforced plastics , two-component coatings and enamel paint.

Thanks to its excellent weather resistance, it lends itself very well to exterior joints .
Its low modulus of elasticity allows the use of Sikaflex-223 for bonding and sealing glazing (PC and PMMA).

Application areas

• Sikaflex-223 is a multifunctional adhesive sealant suitable for industrial bonding and sealing on most substrates such as metals, fiberglass reinforced synthetic substrates, two-component coatings and paints, plastics.
  Thanks to its good weather resistance, it lends itself very well to outdoor joints.
• Its low modulus of elasticity allows Sikaflex-223 to bond or seal organic glazing (PC and PMMA).
  Test on original substrates before using Sikaflex-223 on materials prone to stress cracking.
• Sikaflex-223 should only be used by experienced professionals.
  Tests with original substrates and under local conditions should be performed to ensure adhesion and compatibility.

Application

1. Surfaces must be clean, dry and free of grease, oil or dust.
2. The surface treatment is crucial for good adhesion and will depend on the nature of the substrates.
3. Sikaflex-223 can be used at temperatures between 10°C and 35°C, but it is necessary to take into account a possible influence on the reactivity and the properties of implementation.
   The optimal temperature of the substrate and the product is between 15°C and 25°C.
4. Viscosity may increase at low temperatures.
   For easy application please condition the glue at room temperature.
5. To ensure a uniform thickness we recommend applying the glue in the form of a triangular bead.
6. Sikaflex-223 can be applied manually, pneumatically or electrically with an applicator gun as well as with pump equipment.
7. Pot time is significantly shorter in a hot, humid climate.
8. Parts should always be assembled within pot time.
9. Never join the parts if the adhesive has already formed a skin.
