SikaCem Antifreeze powder is a powder additive used for concreting in cold weather.

Features

SikaCem Antifreeze powder combines three agents that promote:

• Setting and hardening of concrete, especially at low temperatures.
• Better implementation.
• Better impermeability and good frost resistance.

SikaCem Antifreeze powder:

• Does not modify the final mechanical resistances.
• Compatible with other Sika adjuvants.
• Compatible with all cements, except alumina cements.

Application areas

SikaCem Antifreeze powder is compatible with all cements, excluding aluminous cements, and does not attack reinforcements.
It is suitable for all types of concrete, reinforced or not.

SikaCem Antifreeze powder should not be used for making coatings.
For plasters, we recommend using SikaCem façade accelerator in cold weather, with a substrate temperature above 3°C.

Application

1. Pour the necessary quantity directly into the concrete mixer with the cement.
2. It is recalled that the clinker hydration process is only possible if the initial temperature of the concrete is greater than or equal to +5°C.
3. In this case, SikaCem Antigel powder activates the exothermic setting reactions to help the hardening of the concrete even if the outside temperature drops below 0°C.
4. We will therefore ensure, in accordance with the rules of the art, to:
   Use cement with high heat of hydration (CEM I or CEM II, class R)
   Use a cement dosage of 350 kg/m3 minimum
   Do not use frozen materials,
   Protect the fresh concrete with tarpaulins against the action of the wind.

Consumption

A dose of 0.7 kg per bag of cement, i.e. 2% of the weight of the cement

• Dosage of 700g.
