Sikaflex-252 is a single-component flexible polyurethane adhesive specially developed for bonding large components during vehicle assembly.
It is suitable for bonding painted metals , GRP, ceramic materials and plastics.

Application areas

Sikaflex-252 is suitable for the production of structural assemblies subjected in service to dynamic stresses.
It is used for joining materials such as wood; metals and in particular aluminum (anodized), steel (phosphated, chromated and galvanized); primers and paints (two-component); ceramics and plastics.

Application

1. The Sikaflex-252 must be deposited on clean, dry surfaces, free of grease, oil, dust and contaminants.
2. The preliminary treatment of the surface depends on the specific nature of the substrate and is decisive for a durable bond.
3. Sikaflex-252 can be applied between 10°C and 35°C (environment and product) but changes in reactivity and application properties of the product must be taken into account.
   The optimum temperature for glue and substrate is between 15°C and 25°C.
   Note that the viscosity of the product increases when the temperature decreases.
4. To facilitate its application, store the product at room temperature before use.
5. In order to ensure a uniform glue thickness, we recommend applying the glue in the form of triangular beads.
6. Sikaflex-252 can be applied with a manual, pneumatic or electric gun, as well as with a pump.
7. Open time is significantly reduced in hot, humid climates.
8. Always complete assembly of components within the open time window of the product.
9. Do not assemble brackets once the glue skin has formed.
