Areas of use

Bonding SikaCeram Sealing Membrane W and sealing the overlaps of the membranes SikaCeram Sealing Membrane W on substrates in damp rooms.

Application

1. Pour component B (powder) into component A (dispersion).
2. Mix thoroughly using an electric mixer until the material is completely mixed and lump-free (~3 minutes).
3. Avoid introducing air into the mixture by overmixing.
4. Do not add water.
5. If partial quantities are required, mix with a weight ratio of 1.6 component A: 1.0 component B in a separate mixing container.
6. Apply SikaCeram Sealing Fix using a roller or a 3/4 mm notched trowel.
7. Sealing details made with Sika SealTape F and accessories can be coated with SikaCeram Sealing Fix before or after the membrane.
8. If the application is interrupted, the roll can be placed in an airtight plastic film/bag for a maximum of 30 minutes.
9. If the product starts to dry on the roller, the roller must be replaced.

Consumption

~0.46 kg/m² of dispersion + 0.29 kg/m² of powder
Consumption depends on the roughness and degree of absorption of the substrate.
These values are theoretical and do not take into account higher consumption due to porosity and surface profile, level differences and product losses, etc.

FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

1. Can SikaCeram SealingFix be used outdoors?
   Yes, but only in dry, protected areas. It is very resistant to moisture and aging, but it is not a pool adhesive.
2. Can it be used in a shower?
   Yes, that's actually one of its main uses:
   Shower enclosures.
   Edges.
   Accessories.
   Peripheral seals.
   It should not be applied in areas that are completely and continuously submerged.
3. Is a primer necessary before application?
   In 90% of cases, no. A primer can be useful on very porous or problematic surfaces.
4. What is the drying time before adding water?
   Depending on the thickness and ambient humidity, generally allow a minimum of 24 hours before contact with water.
5. How do I clean the fresh product?
   While the product is still wet, wipe with a damp cloth or soapy water. Once cured, remove mechanically.
6. Can it bond different materials (PVC + tile, metal + wood, etc.)?
   Yes, that's one of its major advantages. The Sika formulation guarantees multi-surface adhesion.
7. Can this product replace sanitary silicone?
   Yes, in many situations, because it bonds and seals. However, for joints subject to high stress or significant expansion, a specialized silicone sealant is still recommended.
8. Is this product truly waterproof?
   Yes, once polymerized, it forms a perfectly watertight and moisture-proof barrier, suitable for humid indoor use.
9. Is the product environmentally friendly?
   Classified EC1 PLUS, it has very low emissions and contributes to a healthy indoor environment.
