Sikaflex-403 Tank & Silo - Polyurethane sealant - Sika

Sikaflex-403 Tank & Silo is an elastic , one-component, moisture-curing sealant.

It is designed to seal steel tanks , constructed of enameled or stainless steel segments.
The product is resistant to slurries , silage liquids and is suitable for sealing domestic and municipal sewage systems.

Application areas

This product is used for:

• Seal segmented or bolted steel tanks, including wall-to-floor connection joints
• Tanks for the anaerobic digestion process, including biogas tanks
• Liquid slurry tanks
• Trench silos for agricultural use
• Agricultural stables
• Silage retention walls
• Domestic and municipal sewage treatment plants
• Floor joints requiring very high chemical resistance

Application

1. Apply masking tape where clean or exact seam lines are needed.
2. After the required preparation of the support, insert a support rod to the required depth.
3. Prime the joint surfaces.
   Note: Avoid excessive application of primer to avoid causing puddles at the base of the joint.
4. Prepare the end of the foil bag or cartridge, insert it into the caulk gun and install the nozzle.
   Note: The product is supplied ready to use.
5. Extrude the product into the joint ensuring that it comes into full contact with the sides of the joint and avoiding any air entrapment.
   Do not use tool products containing solvents.
6. As soon as possible after application, apply the sealant firmly against the sides of the joint to ensure adequate adhesion and a smooth finish.
7. Use a compatible tooling agent such as Sika Tooling Agent N to smooth the joint surface.
8. Remove the tape during product stripping time after finishing.
