SikaBond-52 Parquet is an elastic, one-component, solvent-free adhesive for parquet flooring , designed for application with Sikabond Dispenser spreaders or by beads.
EC 1 PLUS label: very low VOC emissions.

Areas of application

• Designed for full-bath bonding using SikaBond Dispenser spreaders:
  Solid and prefabricated parquet flooring, mosaic parquet flooring, industrial parquet flooring, chipboard panels and wood for the substructure.
• Designed for the Sika AcouBond system and bead bonding:
  Solid or engineered wood flooring, chipboard panels and wood for the substructure.
• SikaBond-52 Parquet is specially designed for use with difficult woods.

Application

1. The surface must be clean, dry and homogeneous, free from oil, grease, dust and loose particles.
   Paints, laitance and other loose parts must be removed.
2. Concrete floors and/or cement-based screeds must be sanded and thoroughly cleaned using an industrial vacuum cleaner.
3. Anhydrite screeds/floors must be sanded and thoroughly cleaned with an industrial vacuum cleaner shortly before work begins.
4. Sprinkled poured asphalt floors must be primed before applying Sika Primer MR Fast (see technical data sheet).
5. Glazed ceramics and old ceramic tiles must be degreased and cleaned beforehand with Sika Aktivator-205, or the surface of the tiles must be followed by careful cleaning using an industrial vacuum cleaner.
6. Glue and/or screw the wood/plaster panels onto the substructure so that they are fixed to the support.
   In the case of floating or detached flooring, consult Sika's technical service.
7. SikaBond-52 Parquet can be used without a primer on cement-based floors, anhydrite floors, chipboard, concrete and ceramic tiles.
8. Use Sika Primer MR Fast on poured asphalt floors, cement-based floors with too high a residual moisture content, and in case of renovation on adhesive remnants and on weak, non-load-bearing substrates.

Consumption

Sika AcouBond system:

• ∼400–500 ml/m2 approximately for SikaLayer-03 and ∼500–600 ml/m2 approximately for SikaLayer-05.
• All cutouts must be filled.
• Use a triangular nozzle with an 8 x 10 mm opening.

Full bath bonding using the SikaBond Dispenser-1800 /-3600 /-5400:

• For full-bath bonding using the SikaBond Dispenser, refer to the SikaBond Dispenser series application method document.

Cord bonding:

• ∼44 ml per linear meter = 250-500 g/m², depending on the spacing between the cords (solid wood flooring, chipboard panels and engineered wood flooring).

Substrates treated with Sika Primer MR Fast result in a lower consumption of SikaBond-52 Parquet adhesive.

FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

1. Is this glue suitable for solid wood flooring?
   Yes, SikaBond-52 is perfectly suited for solid wood floors up to 20 cm wide, thanks to its excellent elasticity.
2. Can this glue be used on underfloor heating?
   Yes, it is compatible with hydronic and low-temperature underfloor heating systems. It is not recommended for electric underfloor heating systems using heating cables.
3. Is this glue solvent-free and odorless?
   Yes, i-Cure technology allows for clean polymerization, without solvents or isocyanates, and is almost odorless.
4. Is it certified for healthy indoor use?
   Yes, it is classified EC1 PLUS, the highest level of low emission.
5. Can parquet flooring be laid over existing tiles?
   Yes, provided that you degrease well, lightly sand, and check the adhesion. In some cases, a primer may be recommended.
6. Which serrated comb should I use?
   Depending on the type of parquet flooring, engineered wood, B11. Solid wood, B15. Large widths, a more generous glue comb.
7. Do we need a primary school?
   In most cases, no. But it may be necessary on very porous screeds, on questionable substrates in case of high residual moisture.
8. Can the parquet floor be varnished or oiled the next day?
   Yes, after approximately 24 hours, depending on temperature and humidity.
