SikaBond TF Plus N - One-component adhesive - Sika

SikaBond TF Plus N is a one-component polyurethane-based adhesive.

Features

  • Easy to implement.
  • Rapid polymerization.
  • No tightening required.

Areas of application

  • Bonding of SBR and EPDM rubber profiles onto concrete sewer network pipe.
  • Adhesive of the rubber profile onto the concrete ensures that it remains in place until the pipes are joined.

Application

  1. Apply the glue with a gun in a continuous and regular joint on the concrete so that the entire bonding surface of the profile is in contact with the glue.
  2. Glue the profile before the glue forms a skin and press the profile by hand until the glue overflows slightly on both sides.
  3. The position of the profile can be adjusted up to 30 minutes at +23°C after gluing by sliding but without lifting, ensuring that the thickness of glue under the profile is greater than 1 mm.
  4. If the newly applied adhesive joint deteriorates or is damaged after drying, remove all the adhesive from the concrete and the profile by scraping with a triangular knife and then reapply the adhesive.

Consumption

~ 7.6 meters of 10 mm diameter joint per 600 ml refill.

Packaging

600 ml pouch.

FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Can I use SikaBond TF Plus N outdoors?
Yes, it is perfectly suited for outdoor applications thanks to its high resistance to aging and weathering.
  2. On which materials does it adhere best?
Concrete, mortar, wood, aluminum, sheet steel, PVC, EPDM (depending on preparation), and most non-greasy surfaces. For some difficult materials, a Sika primer is recommended.
  3. Is it compatible with Sika profiles?
Yes, that's one of its main uses. It's designed to ensure a durable bond for Sika jointing systems.
  4. Can it be painted after it has dried?
In general, yes with compatible paints, but it is recommended to test beforehand as some paints can disrupt polymerization.
  5. What is the setting time?
The glue forms a skin in about 1 hour, but complete hardening takes 24 to 48 hours depending on the thickness.
  6. Does the glue remain flexible?
Yes, even after complete hardening. It retains lasting elasticity to follow the movements of materials.
  7. Is it resistant to vibrations?
Very good. Its flexibility and grip make it an excellent choice for components subject to vibration or deformation.
