Sika Primer-207 is a black solvent-based primer that hardens in the air and forms a thin layer.
This layer acts as a bridge between the substrate and the adhesive.

Sika Primer-207 is specially formulated for surface treatment during the application of Sika single-component polyurethanes .
This primer can ensure excellent adhesion to several substrates, without the use of an activator.

Sika Primer-207 is fluorescent under the influence of UV waves for a limited period, in order to control the implementation process.

Areas of application

Sika Primer-207 can be used to improve adhesion on many substrates such as glass, ceramic-coated glass, synthetic materials, base coats, lacquered surfaces, E-coats and metals.
This product should only be used by experienced professionals.

Application

1. Shake the Sika Primer-207 bottle until you hear the mixing ball click freely inside the bottle.
2. Then continue shaking for one minute and apply a thin, covering coat with a brush, felt-tip pen, or foam applicator.
3. The ideal application temperature for the product and the surface is between 15°C and 25°C.
4. Apply a single coat of Sika Primer-207.
5. Ensure that this layer provides good coverage.
6. Close the bottle carefully immediately after each use.

1. Does Sika Primer-207 require prior sanding?
2. In most cases, heavy sanding is unnecessary. However, the surface must be clean, dry, and free of grease. On certain specific materials, light sanding may improve adhesion.
3. Can Sika Primer-207 be used on wood?
   It is primarily designed for non-porous substrates (glass, metals, plastics). For wood or porous substrates, other Sika primers may be more suitable.
4. Can it be used outdoors?
   Yes, it is perfectly suited for outdoor applications when used with a compatible sealant/adhesive.
5. Is it mandatory to use a primer with Sikaflex?
   It depends on the substrate. On some materials, adhesion may be sufficient without a primer. However, to guarantee optimal and long-lasting performance, the use of Primer-207 is recommended.
6. How long should I wait before applying the glue?
   The minimum drying time is approximately 10 minutes. Do not exceed the maximum time recommended by the manufacturer (usually a few hours).
7. What is the shelf life after opening?
   Once opened, the product must be used promptly. Solvents evaporate and may impair performance. Close tightly immediately after use.
