Floetrol - Additive for water-based paints - Owatrol

Floetrol is an aqueous phase additive that improves the glide and flow properties of acrylic and emulsion paints under difficult climatic conditions ( high heat , drafts , etc.).
Floetrol also facilitates and improves application with a spray gun while slowing down the wear of certain parts (nozzles…).

Properties :

• Avoids marks from regrowth, facilitates gliding, allows for better tension.
• Delays paint drying and reduces the so-called "stringing" or "pockmarking" effect. Ideal for decorative effect work.
• Allows you to repaint a ceiling effortlessly for optimal results.
• Essential when applying with a spray gun because:
  • offers greater flexibility of use,
  • limits paint buildup in the spray gun.
  • reduces pressure by up to 20%
  • lubricates the nozzles and reduces their wear,
  • It reduces 'fog' and prevents irregular projections.
• On average, and depending on the substrate and the method of application used, a paint with 10% Floetrol added allows you to cover 20% more surface area.

Preparing the support:

When mixed with paint, Floetrol is applied to a dry, clean, sound and prepared surface (degreased, sanded, etc.) whose use, nature, quality, treatments and preparation comply with the standards and DTU in force and with the instructions on the paint can with which Floetrol will be mixed.
The recognition and preparation of the substrate are the responsibility of the applicator.

Application :

Proportions of Floetrol to be added to the paint in the first coat depending on the application method:

• Brush or roller: add 7 to 15% Floetrol per liter of paint.
• Air gun or compressed air: add 5 to 10% Floetrol per liter of paint to obtain the required consistency. If the paint thickens, add one tablespoon of water per liter of paint.
• Airless spray gun: add 10% Floetrol per litre of paint.
• Decorative effects: add 20 to 25% Floetrol per liter of paint.

Apply the mixture according to the recommendations and instructions defined by the manufacturer of the paint used.

• It can be added directly to water-based paints: acrylics, PU acrylics, vinyls, alkyd emulsions, RPE, RSE, decorative paints…
