VegaFloor - Colorless PU varnish - Owatrol Pro

Vegafloor , the high-performance, single-component, water -based satin varnish , is easy to apply and has optimal mechanical and chemical resistance , including to ammonia-based products .

Properties :

  Yield may vary depending on the condition of the substrate, its impregnation, and the application equipment.

Preparing the support:

1. To avoid excessively deep scratches from sanding, perform a test sanding with a floor sander equipped with a #40 or #50 grit.
2. Depending on the visual result obtained, continue progressively with a finer grain up to No. 80 or 100 or start with a larger grain (grain < 40) for a soil that is clogged and not leveled.
3. Use an edger for the edges, a scraper or a chisel for the corners.
4. If necessary, fill cracks < 2 mm with Lianfloor and resume sanding with 80 or 100 grit depending on the last grit used.
5. Finish with finishing sanding up to grit #120 to 150 depending on the type of wood and the thickness of the wear layer.

Professional advice:

• Follow the particle size scale above. It is recommended to skip only one grain at a time.
• Adjust the sanding pressure and speed according to the grit used, the type of wood (softness or hardness), and the thickness of the wear layer. Proper preparation is essential for the final finish.
• Always dust thoroughly with a vacuum cleaner between each sanding, without forgetting dust traps (baseboards, radiators, pipes, window sills, etc.).
• For parquet floors that were previously oiled or waxed: first, dry stripping with DSP 800 followed by degreasing before sanding (consult us).
• In all cases, comply with the applicable standards/DTUs.

Application :

1. Shake the product well using a spatula.
   Use a helical mixer if necessary.
   Allow to rest for a few minutes before applying.
2. Apply a first even and even coat of VegaFloor.
   Perform 3 cross passes in one application by positioning yourself facing the light and starting from the opposite side of the door so as to progress towards it.
3. Start with the edges and then cover the entire surface, working in 2m x 2m sections.
4. Do not open the windows during application to avoid excessively rapid drying.
5. Allow to dry for 3 to 4 hours depending on ambient conditions.
6. Proceed to ginning (grains no. 150 to 180) then dust thoroughly.
7. Apply the 2nd coat of VegaFloor.
   Do not exceed 12 hours between the application of the 2 coats.
8. Wait at least 48 hours before replacing the furniture, protecting the feet with pads.
9. Do not cover the varnished surface with carpets or protective tarpaulins for a minimum of 14 days after applying the varnish.

   No, its colorless formula preserves the natural appearance of the wood without noticeable yellowing.
2. Can it be used on underfloor heating?
   Yes, provided the underfloor heating is compatible and switched off during application and drying. Follow the manufacturer's recommendations.
3. Is it suitable for areas with very high traffic?
   Yes, VegaFloor is specifically formulated for high-traffic areas (shops, offices, staircases).
4. How long before the part can be put back into service?
   Light traffic, 24 hours. Full commissioning, 3 to 7 days, depending on conditions and traffic.
5. Can VegaFloor be applied over an old varnish?
   Yes, after complete sanding to ensure adhesion and remove old finishes.
6. Is it easy to maintain?
   Yes, once completely dry, the surface can be washed with mild cleaning products suitable for vitrified floors.
7. Does the product have a scent?
   Very little. Its water-based formulation greatly reduces odors compared to solvent-based varnishes.
