Properties :

Applications:

1. Do not dilute.
   Mix the product well before and during use.
2. On a prepared surface, apply a generous coat of Textrol in the direction of the wood grain and over the entire length of the blade, paying particular attention to the ends.
3. Apply a second coat when the wet look of the wood disappears (approximately 15 to 30 minutes).
   Never allow to dry between coats.
   Apply “cost on cost”.
4. Repeat the operation until the support is saturated (wood no longer absorbs the product).
5. Smooth out any excess product (or even wipe it off) before drying to avoid any traces of drips or shine when drying: Textrol must be in the wood and not on the surface.
6. When applying with a spray gun, smoothing is always recommended to improve penetration and give a uniform appearance.

Note : Opening of terraces, pontoons: normal traffic 48/72 hours depending on weather conditions.

• Outside.
• Chalets, cladding, terraces, fences, garden sheds.
• Suitable for pressure-treated or untreated softwoods, including Western Red Cedar. Do not use on plywood.
• Apply to a clean coating free from any previous coating (or to a suitable Owatrol saturator).
• Horizontal or vertical surfaces.

FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is the difference between a saturator and a stain?
   The saturator penetrates deeply into the wood without forming a film. It never flakes. Wood stain forms a thin surface layer that can eventually blister or peel.
2. Does Textrol change the color of wood?
   In its colorless version, it slightly warms the natural shade. The tinted versions alter the appearance according to the chosen color.
3. Can it be used on a terrace?
   Yes, Textrol is suitable for terraces only if the wood is not smooth (avoid on perfectly planed wood which absorbs less).
4. How many coats should be applied?
   Textrol is applied wet-on-wet. Apply a first coat, then a second as long as the wood absorbs. Once saturated, wipe off any excess.
5. Can Textrol be applied to old, greyed wood?
   Yes, provided you clean and lighten it beforehand with Net-trol. This will restore the wood to its original color.
6. What is the average consumption?
   Approximately 10–12 m²/L depending on the porosity of the wood.
7. What is the drying time?
   Between 12 and 24 hours, depending on temperature and humidity.
8. Can Textrol be applied with a spray gun?
   Yes, but applying with a brush or a spalter allows for better penetration.
9. How often should the product be reapplied?
   Generally every 1 to 3 years, depending on the exposure of the wood (sun, rain…).
10. Is Textrol compatible with all types of wood?
    Yes, resinous, exotic, autoclave… On very dense woods (e.g., ipe), perform an absorption test.
