Consolidator K - Akemi

Very fluid single-component product to consolidate sandy stones , lets the stone breathe, does not change the color.

Features :

  • Easy application thanks to ready-to-use 1-component product
  • High concentration of catalyzing agents
  • Good depth of penetration due to its extra fluid consistency
  • Colorless, therefore also suitable for light natural stone
  • Solvent free
  • Weather resistant, no yellowing
  • Does not close the pores, the stone retains its breathability

Use :

Preparatory measures:

  1. Check for harmful salts (nitrates, sulfates, chlorides)
  2. Observation of the thickness of the damaged layer
  3. Cleaning
  4. Application on a sample

Realization of the consolidation:

  1. The optimal conditions are a very dry stone, a temperature of 10 to 25°C, an air humidity of > 50% as well as protection against rain and strong sunshine for 2 to 3 days.
  2. Apply the product neat several times, wet on wet, by spraying, brushing or soaking, until the stone no longer absorbs anything.
If necessary, repeat the procedure after 2-3 weeks.
Low pressure airless sprayers (maximum 1 bar removal), with a nozzle distance of 5-10 cm, are suitable for application to facades by the flood method (requisite: solvent-resistant hoses and seals ).
Apply as much AKEMI Consolideur K as necessary until 40 to 50 cm flow out.
  3. It is important to apply evenly until completely saturated.
  4. To avoid color change on the surface, wash the surface with AKEMI Nitro Thinner approximately 1 hour after the last application.
  5. A second consolidation process can be done or stone replacement compounds can be applied.
If AKEMI Consolideur K is applied before the application of the stone replacement compounds, a reaction time of approximately 4 weeks must be taken into account.
  6. The reaction time at 20°C and 50% relative humidity is 2 to 3 weeks.
  7. We recommend using AKEMI Hydrofuge Pierre for hydrophobic protection.
  8. Tools can be cleaned with gasoline or AKEMI Nitro Thinner.
