Sikaflex Pro-3 SL is a one-component , self-leveling, air- humidity curing elastic sealant with high mechanical and chemical resistance, suitable for indoor and outdoor applications.
EC 1 PLUS label: very low VOC emissions .

Areas of application

Sikaflex PRO-3 SL is specially developed for horizontal applications, conventional for expansion and connection joints in floors, pedestrian and traffic areas (e.g. parking lots), shops and production areas, applications in the food industry, ceramic tiles in public buildings, etc., and for floor joints in tunnels.

Application

Seal design

The joint width must be calculated/designed to accommodate the required joint movement and the movement capability of the sealant.
The joint width must be ≥ 10 mm and ≤ 35 mm.
A width-to-depth ratio of 1:0.8 must be maintained

The basis for calculating the necessary joint widths are the type of structure and its dimensions, the technical characteristics of the surrounding building materials, and the jointing compound itself, as well as the specific exposure of the building and its joints.

Instructions

1. Sikaflex PRO-3 SL is ready to use.
2. After the necessary preparation of the substrate, insert the joint filler to the required depth and - if necessary apply the primer.
3. Insert the pouch into the gun and apply Sikaflex PRO-3 SL laterally into the joint.
4. Ensure complete contact with the sides of the seal and avoid air entrapment.

FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

1. Is Sikaflex Pro-3 SL truly self-leveling?
   Yes, its fluid formula allows it to naturally conform to the bottom of the joint and stabilize without any additional tools. It is ideal for horizontal floor joints.
2. Can it be used in a car park with car traffic and forklifts?
   Absolutely, that's one of its main applications. It withstands rolling loads very well, including heavy ones.
3. Can the product be painted?
   No, self-leveling polyurethane sealants are generally not recoatable because their surface remains too flexible.
4. Is it suitable for exterior joints?
   Yes, as long as it is not constantly exposed to UV rays without protection. For joints that are highly exposed, a special UV sealant may be preferable.
5. What is the recommended joint width?
   Generally, 10 to 40 mm wide. Depth adjusted according to a 1:1 or 2:1 ratio depending on the width. Always check the official technical specifications.
6. Can it be used on tiles?
   It can be used between concrete slabs or at the base of tiled walls, but it is not a tile grout.
7. What color exists?
   Primarily concrete grey, suitable for industrial floors. Other colours may be available depending on the market.
8. Do we need a primary school?
   Depending on the porosity of the substrate, a Sika primer may be recommended to ensure optimal adhesion.
9. Is it food-safe?
   No, this is not a sealant intended for areas in direct contact with food.
