Sikasil-670 Fire is a fire -resistant, one-component, elastic , moisture-curing, low-modulus joint sealant .

Areas of application

Sikasil-670 Fire is developed for fire-resistant sealing of expansion and connection joints, on porous as well as non-porous substrates.

Application

1. Sikasil-670 Fire is supplied ready to use.
2. After the necessary preparation of the support, install in the joint at the required depth, a joint backer rod with a cross-section adapted to the width of the joint.
3. Apply a Sika primer if necessary.
4. Install a cartridge or pouch in a caulking gun.
5. Extrude Sikasil-670 Fire into the joint, ensuring that it comes into contact with all the edges of the joint and avoiding any inclusion of air bubbles.
6. By smoothing its surface, Sikasil-670 Fire must be tightly pressed against the lips of the joint to allow good adhesion.
7. It is recommended to use adhesive tapes if clean, straight edges are required for the joints.
8. Remove the adhesive tapes before the sealant forms a skin.
9. Do not use smoothing products containing solvents.

1. Is this sealant truly fire-resistant?
   Yes, Sikasil®-670 Fire is tested according to European fire resistance standards. The resistance time depends on the joint configuration (width, depth, substrate).

3. What media does it adhere to?

5. Can it replace a firestop mortar?
   No, it is intended for flexible joints requiring fire resistance. It does not replace structural mortar.
6. Is it paintable?
   Silicone sealants are generally not paintable with conventional paints. A preliminary test is recommended.
7. What is its range of motion?
   It is designed to absorb the movements of construction joints while maintaining its fire-resistant performance.
8. How to guarantee fire safety compliance?
