Joint HY - Waterproof pointing mortar - PTB Compaktuna

Joint HY is a dry composition which, by simply adding water, produces a ready-to-use jointing mortar .

Features :

• Extraordinary workability and gives a joint with high wear resistance and a smooth, well-closed surface.
• Perfectly suitable for earthenware, ceramic, mosaic, natural stone, etc. tiles, both exterior and interior.
• Grouting product for floors and walls with a minimum depth of 4 mm and a maximum width of 5 mm.
• Very high sealing, whereby the joint remains clean for longer; is designed for bathrooms, showers and other damp areas.
• Used for grouting floors with underfloor heating, provided that this is taken into account with the usual expansion joints.
  When grouting natural stone, the porosity of the stone should be taken into account.
• May be classified as CG 2 W A.

Manual :

1. Grout at the earliest 24 hours after laying the tiles installed with CIMENT-FORT PLUS , FLEX-PÉPAIS , FLEXcement , FLEXcement PLUS , PASTAFIX T or ordinary mortar.
2. JOINT HY should be mixed with approximately 28% to 30% water i.e. approximately 5.6 L to 6 L of water on 20 kg of product.
3. After careful mixing and with a slowly rotating mixer, the grouting mortar thus obtained must be left to rest for 5 minutes.
4. Then JOINT HY must be mixed again.
5. JOINT HY is applied in paste form, i.e. filling the joints using a jointing palette, a rubber spatula, etc.
6. For the ground, you must work with the same pasty consistency (do not fluidize).
   Care must be taken to ensure that the joint is completely filled.
7. Remove excess grouting mortar diagonally in relation to the joint, using a dry, hard sponge.
8. After 20 to 30 minutes, remove the last traces of mortar on the tiles using a soft, damp sponge, proceeding diagonally in relation to the joint.
   Change the washing water regularly.
9. JOINT HY is sufficiently hardened after 24 hours (at +20°C), after which the floor can be walked on again.
   For very absorbent tiles and in case of high temperatures or lots of wind, the joints must be moistened beforehand.

Consumption :

50-500 g/m², depending on tile format, width and depth of joints.

± 30 mins

Mix ratio:

±5.6 L to 6 L of water per 20 kg bag (±28 to 30% water)

Conditioning :

5 kg and 20 kg: White, Silver Grey, Manhattan, Cement Grey, Jasmine, Bahama, Anthracite and Black.
