Putzuna PL - Water-repellent plaster - PTB Compaktuna

Putzuna PL is a dry cement -based coating , ready to use and with very high water resistance, suitable for both interior and exterior applications.

Features :

• Composed of cement, selected quartz sands and high quality additives.
• By simply adding water, a water-resistant coating with high final strength is obtained.
• Exceptional water resistance, very good workability and excellent adhesion.
• Used as a coating on water-laden surfaces which are often damp, such as facade foundations, garden walls, bricks under the water barrier layer and on surfaces which are under the ground after placement.
• Can also be used as a water-resistant exterior plaster, as a finishing coat or as a base coat in e.g. bathrooms and showers with or without tiles.
  For waterproofing applications where there is possible pressure such as cellars, water collectors, swimming pools, foundation walls, PUTZUNA HY is preferably used.
• To level large exterior surfaces (e.g. facades), PUTZUNA BA-W must be used.
• Can be classified as CS IV Wc2.

Manual :

Support:

1. The application will always be carried out on a raw, clean, healthy surface, free of dust, traces of oil and loose particles and which has sufficient lift.
   Absorbent and non-uniform supports will first be moistened or treated with a solution of COMPAKTUNA (PRO) /water (1/4) or with PRIMER PO.
2. Suitable substrates are brick masonry, building blocks, concrete surfaces, poured concrete, etc.
3. Do not apply to salt-contaminated masonry, plastered supports, cellular concrete, insulating panels, lightweight construction panels and prefabricated walls.

Application :

1. Adhesion layer: An adhesion layer must always be applied to the support.
   It consists of PUTZUNA PL mixed with a COMPAKTUNA (PRO) /water solution 1 in 2 until a thick slip consistency is obtained, that is to say with ±24% of this mixing solution ( = ±6 L per 25 kg bag).
2. This slip is applied in a thin layer to the wall and scratched with a notched spatula.
3. For uneven surfaces, it is recommended to apply the adhesive coat using a brush.
4. Allow this tack layer to set (but not harden) before continuing to work wet on wet.

Coating:

1. PUTZUNA PL is prepared with 18% to 21% water, i.e. ±4.5 L to 5.25 L of water per 25 kg bag depending on the desired consistency.
   Per 25 kg bag, pour the necessary quantity of water into a tank and slowly and evenly add the dry coating.
2. Mix everything intensively with a slow mixer for 5 minutes until you obtain a homogeneous mass without lumps.
3. Let the coating sit for 2 minutes and then mix thoroughly again.
4. Apply the prepared mortar to the support either manually with a smoother or with a coating spraying machine. PUTZUNA PL can be projected with a mixer continuously.
5. Distribute and level PUTZUNA PL with a leveling rule or a straight slat until the desired thickness.
6. When the coating has set, it can be polished using a trowel (rotating movements).
7. If desired, apply a finish with a sanding board or sponge.
   Polishing the surface with a steel trowel is not recommended.
