SikaFiber - Polypropylene fiber for concrete and screed - Sika

SikaFibers are monofilament polypropylene based 6mm or 12mm long, intended for use in concrete and mortars.

Application areas

• Concrete slabs, roads, car parks, tracks, in which Sika Fibers fibers limit cracking due to shrinkage.
• Concrete subjected to shocks.
• Concrete requiring strong cohesion in the fresh state, such as extruded or steeply sloping concrete.
• Thin-layer sprayed concrete in combination with Sikacrete P (see technical notice 1.50).
• Precast concrete to improve the handling of parts during demoulding and limit the scrapping of slabs, pavers, curbs, manholes, pipes, etc.

Application

1. Add the fibers with the dry aggregates, taking care to distribute the fibers evenly in the mixture.
2. Fibers can be added when all components of the mix have been added, although mixing time should be increased to ensure even fiber distribution (as a guide, add an additional 1 minute for every 1m³).
3. Do not add the fibers directly to the mixing water.

Consumption

1 dose of 600 gr of Sika Fiber per m³ of concrete.

To reduce high temperature spalling: 1000 - 2000 g per m³ of concrete
