SikaGrout-312 - Precision expanding fluid mortar - Sika

SikaGrout-312 is a cementitious , castable, single-component, high-precision, dust -reducing, ready-to-use, expansion and shrinkage-compensated mortar, which can be applied in thicknesses of 6 to 125 mm.

Application areas

• Sealing mortar for heavy equipment/machine bases, base plates, bedding joints in precast concrete sections, filling cavities, gaps and recesses, sealing around penetrations, securing reinforcement ( post fixation).
• Repair and protection of concrete (principle 3, method 3.1 and 3.2 according to EN 1504-9).
• Structural reinforcement (principle 4, method 4.2 and 4.4 according to EN 1504-9).
• Preservation or restoration of passivity (principle 7, method 7.1 and 7.2 according to EN 1504-9).

Application

1. SikaGrout-312 can be mixed using a hand-held electric mixer at low speed (< 500 rpm) to avoid entraining too much air.
   For best results, only mix full bags.
2. Pour the recommended amount of water into a suitable mixing container.
3. While mixing slowly, add the powder to the water and mix thoroughly for at least 3 minutes adding -if necessary- an additional amount of water during the mixing time, up to the maximum amount specified, to obtain the consistency of fluid mortar required.
4. Moisten the concrete to refusal until complete saturation.
5. Before applying the mortar, remove excess water, for example with a clean sponge.
6. The surface will have a dark matte appearance, without shimmering (surface saturated with water but dry on the surface) and the pores and cavities of the surface will not contain water.
7. Allow the fluid mortar to stand for approximately 5 minutes to release the air entrained by the mix; pour the fluid mortar into the prepared openings using a head of pressure sufficient to maintain a continuous flow of fluid mortar.
8. Make sure that the air forced out by the mortar can easily escape.
9. For optimum use of the expansion properties, apply the fluid mortar within approximately 15 minutes after mixing.
10. The product can also be pumped.

Consumption

The actual consumption of the product depends on the roughness of the support and the thickness of the applied layer.
Typically ~20kg powder per 10mm thickness per m²

Yield: 1 bag of SikaGrout-312 gives approximately 12.3 liters of fresh mortar
