FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

• Can this squeegee be used in an autoclave?
  The Vikan technical data sheet mentions a maximum cleaning temperature of 93°C and a working temperature of up to 175°C. It is not recommended for autoclave cycles at very high temperatures (e.g. 121°C under prolonged pressure).
• Is it approved for direct food contact?
  Yes, it complies with EC regulation (1935/2004), REACH regulation, and FDA approved for food contact.
• Can I scrape pots with very thick sticky residue?
  Yes, but be careful: very abrasive or crystalline residues may cause the blade to wear prematurely. It is recommended to scrape gently and avoid very rough surfaces.
• Does the squeegee work with a standard non-Vikan handle?
  It is designed to fit handles from the Vikan range. A non-compliant handle may not lock properly or may create play.
• How long does this raclette last?
  It depends on usage (frequency, aggressiveness of products, scraped surfaces). With proper maintenance and proper use, it can last for many years. But keep an eye on the edge and replace it as soon as there is visible wear.
• Is this piece sold alone or with a handle?
  This is the bowl blade/squeegee only (without handle). For a compatible Vikan handle, see our handle range.
• Can we choose another color?
  The 7011/5 model is available in white according to hygienic color coding conventions. Other Vikan squeegee models are available in different colors depending on the use (separation of areas).
