Application
Concrete or cement-bound screeds:
Unsanded or polished surfaces (grit >100)
- Apply Sikagard-915 Stainprotect evenly using an airless spray gun with a suitable spray tip (0.1 is recommended).
- Spread the product using a microfiber brush.
- A thin, spreadable layer should remain on the surface.
- Clean excess product within 10 minutes using rotating brushes fitted with a white pad/polishing pad.
This gives a satin appearance. - Polishing must be done before the product begins to dry.
Concrete or cement-bound screed:
Rough, unsanded surfaces (grit <100)
- For rough, absorbent surfaces, use Sikagard-914 W Stainprotect Primer as a pre-treatment.
- Allow the product to penetrate and dry for 1 to 2 hours.
- For truly absorbent supports, a 2nd application will be necessary.
- Sikagard-915 Stainprotect can be applied after the primer has completely dried.
- All applied product must penetrate the surface or must be removed during polishing.
- If excess material hardens on the finish, it is no longer possible to remove it.

Only Sikagard-915 Stainprotect
Sanded/polished surfaces | Unsanded surfaces / trowelable mortar | |
---|---|---|

2nd app | ~ 0.010 - 0.050 l/m² | ~ 0.010 - 0.10 l/m² |
Depending on surface absorption and degree of polishing or sanding, when Sikagard-914 W Stainprotect Primer is not applied, a second coat of Sikagard-915 Stainprotect may be necessary.
The surface must be saturated with Sikagard-915 Stainprotect, consumption can therefore vary from 0.050 - 0.010 l/m² (= ~ 20 - 100m²/l).
