Sikagard-700 S - Hydrophobic siloxane impregnation - Sika

Sikagard-700 S is a single-component hydrophobic impregnation for absorbent cement-based supports.

The product penetrates well into the pores of the support, which gives a long-lasting hydrophobic action, while allowing the transfer of water vapor in both directions.
Sikagard-700 S complies with the requirements of standard EN 1504-2 as a hydrophobic impregnation (depth of penetration - class I).

Application areas

• Sikagard-700 S is used as a hydrophobic impregnation product which constitutes a colorless surface protection treatment for untreated porous supports, such as concrete, cement-based coatings, concrete slabs, fiber cement, bricks ( terracotta, sand-limestone, non-vitrified), natural stone.
• Sikagard-700 S can also be used as a hydrophobic primer before applying a water-based or solvent-based protective coating.
• Sikagard-700 S is used as impregnation / hydrophobic treatment of porous surfaces, such as concrete in building and Civil Engineering.
  Suitable for protection against ingress (Principle 1, method 1.1 of EN 1504-9).
  Suitable for humidity control (Principle 2, method 2.1 of EN 1504-9).
  Suitable for increasing resistivity (Principle 8, method 8.1 of EN 1504-9).

Application

1. Sikagard-700 S is applied by spraying at low pressure, with a brush or a roller, working from bottom to top, and taking care not to let the product run off (avoid drips).
2. Apply a following layer "fresh on fresh".
3. Clean all tools and application equipment with white spirit immediately after use.
4. The hardened product can only be removed mechanically.

Consumption

~ 0.300 - 0.500 kg/m² (i.e. 0.375 - 0.625 l/m²) per coat for a normally absorbent substrate.
To ensure durability a minimum of 2 coats should be applied.
