Applications:

• Permanently elastic seals in bathrooms, kitchens, air conditioning and ventilation systems.
• Connection joints between wall and bathtub or shower tray.

Instructions for use:

1. Apply the product using a manual or pneumatic gun.
2. Apply Silirub+ S8100 evenly without air inclusions in the joint.
3. Smooth the joint with a spatula using a finishing solution.
4. Avoid getting soapy water between the wall and the sealant (to prevent possible detachment at the edge).
5. Clean with Soudal Surface Cleaner or Soudal Swipex immediately after use. Cured Silirub+ S8100 can only be removed mechanically.
6. Finishing: With a soapy solution or a Soudal smoothing product, before film coating.
7. Repair: With the same product.

FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

1. Is the Silirub+ S8100 really mold resistant?
   Yes, it contains latest generation antifungal agents specially designed for damp rooms (bathrooms, kitchens, showers…).
2. Can this silicone be used in a shower or around a bathtub?
   Yes, that's one of its main uses. It offers excellent resistance in areas in constant contact with water.
3. Is it compatible with natural stone?
   Generally yes, but preliminary tests are recommended as some silicones can cause migration. For delicate stones, opt for a silicone specifically formulated for "natural stone".
4. Can the Silirub+ S8100 be painted?
   No, like most neutral silicones, it cannot be painted over.
5. Can it be used outdoors?
   Yes, it is highly resistant to UV rays and weathering. However, it is a sanitary silicone. For facades or exterior glazing, there are specialized silicones available.
6. How long should you wait before exposing it to water?
   Minimum 24 hours, ideally 48 hours for prolonged contact.
7. What is the lifespan of the seal?
   Between 5 and 10 years depending on maintenance, cleaning and humidity conditions.
8. Can it be used for gluing?
   It can perform small, non-structural bonding tasks, but that's not its primary function. Use Soudal's Fix All range for strong bonds.
9. Does the product have a strong odor?
   No, thanks to its neutral technology, the odor is very faint and disappears quickly.
10. Why choose neutral silicone rather than acetic silicone?
    Neutral silicone does not attack sensitive surfaces, adheres better to more materials, does not give off a strong odor and is more versatile.
