Waterproofing mat 290 - Crack bridging - PTB Compaktuna

Sealing mat 290 is a sealing mat for bridging cracks , made of flexible polyethylene covered with a polypropylene fabric on both sides to ensure its anchoring in the tile adhesive.

Features :

• Used as a waterproofing system under tiles and floor coverings, particularly where the floor is likely to be exposed to moisture.
• Wall and floor applications, wet areas such as bathrooms, showers and swimming pools, in homes, hotels and hospitals, large kitchens, balconies and terraces.
• It is recommended to glue the SEALING MAT 290 with FLEXcement RAPID .
• You can tile directly on the SEALING MAT 290.
• Preformed internal and external corners are also available on request.

Manual :

1. The application will always be carried out on a clean, healthy surface, free of dust and traces of oil.
   Very absorbent surfaces will be treated beforehand with a COMPAKTUNA (PRO) /water (1/4) primer or PRIMER PO .
2. The support is leveled with a suitable leveling mortar.
   The joints must be covered in the waterproofing layer.
3. Installation is carried out at temperatures between +5°C and +30°C.
4. The glue intended for installing the SEALING MAT 290 will be adapted to the support.
   In the majority of cases, FLEXcement RAPID is recommended.
5. Apply the glue with a notched spatula to the support, then compress the SEALING MAT 290 into the glue layer with the smooth side of the spatula to obtain 100% adhesion.
   Take into account the open time of the glue.
6. The WATERPROOFING MATS 290 which must be placed next to each other on the support must be glued with an overlap of at least 5 cm.
7. For inside and outside corners and tube sleeves, preformed accessories should be used.
   These are also installed with an overlap of at least 5 cm and 100% glued.
8. The overlap can be glued with SEAL-ALL XT8 .
9. For connections to drains, a 50 x 50 cm sleeve cut from WATERPROOFING MAT 290 can be used.
   At the height of existing expansion joints or separation joints in constructions, SEALING MAT 290 must be separated and bridged with a flexible sealing strip.
10. The covering can be installed when waterproofing is ensured everywhere.
11. For laying tiles, we use a flexible adhesive cement such as FLEXcement (PLUS) or FLEXcement RAPID .
    The latter is applied directly to the SEALING MAT 290.
12. The tiles are glued over the entire surface.
13. For bonding and sealing in walk-in showers and heavily loaded environments, it may be recommended to use EPOXY-JOINT RG as a hardening reactive binder.
