SikaBond-54 Parquet is a one-component, fast-curing, solvent-free elastic adhesive for full-bath bonding.

Application areas

SikaBond-54 Parquet is used for full-bath bonding of solid and prefabricated parquet, mosaic parquet, industrial parquet, lamparquet, residential wood flooring and paving, as well as particleboard and wood for the substructure.
SikaBond-54 Parquet is designed for use with the most common woods and especially for difficult wood species.

Application

1. SikaBond-54 Parquet can be applied directly to the prepared substrate from the bucket.
2. Spread the product evenly with a notched trowel.
3. Firmly press the parquet elements into the adhesive to ensure bonding over the entire surface.
4. It is often necessary to hammer the parquet elements.
5. Many types of wood must also be hammered from above.
6. The distance between the wall and the parquet should be at least 10-15 mm.
7. The floor is walkable / can be sanded 24 to 48 hours after installation (+23°C / 50% RH, adhesive thickness up to 1 mm), depending on the surrounding conditions and the thickness of the adhesive layer.
8. Immediately remove the remains of uncured adhesive from the surface using a clean cloth and, if necessary, clean with Sika Remover-208.
9. First test the wood surface for compatibility with Sika Remover-208 before using.

Consumption

Full bath bonding:

• 600 to 800 g/m² with notched trowel with B3 teeth (TKB Germany) for lamparquet, mosaic parquet and industrial parquet.
• 700 to 900 g/m² with notched trowel with B6 teeth (TKB Germany) for prefabricated parquet and planks, lamparquet, mosaic parquet.
• 800 to 1000 g/m² with notched trowel with B11 teeth (TKB Germany) for solid parquet, long prefabricated boards and panels, industrial parquet, other residential wooden flooring and paving, as well as for chipboard.

For gluing long, wide boards and on uneven supports, it may be necessary to use a notched trowel with longer teeth in order to avoid holes in the bed of glue (full bath gluing is required).
Supports treated with Sika Primer MR Fast generate less consumption of SikaBond-54 Parquet glue.
