PID 60 Marine - Universal anticorrosion primer - Owatrol

Anti-corrosion primer and one-component medium gray adhesion undercoat for healthy , rust -free surfaces.

Coverable with one and two components including epoxy .
Applies to ferrous and non-ferrous metals , gelcoat, galvanized steel , aluminum , old paints, etc.

Properties :

Anti-corrosion primer and one-component medium gray adhesion undercoat for healthy, rust-free surfaces (compatible with light rust). Excellent adhesion on smooth surfaces such as aluminum, zinc, galvanized steel.

  • In a thin layer as an adhesive undercoat.
  • In a thick layer:
    • As an anti-corrosion primer.
    • To fill the rough edges of the metal.
  • In cleanliness layer before handling and/or shipping.
  • Fast drying. Gives opacity.
  • Applies to all surfaces with no significant dimensional variations: steel, aluminum, fiber cement, concrete, sheet metal, galvanized steel, gelcoat, etc.
  • Very easy sanding.
  • Yield: 6-13 m² per liter per coat depending on the desired result.

Application :

  1. Apply with a brush, using a brush in one coat.
  2. Deposit a wet thickness between 150-200 µm which will correspond to 100-140 µm of dry film.
  3. Dry in one hour.
  4. Can also be applied with a paint gun, applying a thin, even layer.
  5. If necessary, possibility of applying 2 coats (the second coat will be applied between 2 and 4 hours after the first).
  6. PID 60 Marine must be completely dry throughout before any covering (between 2 and 4 hours).
  7. Wait 6 hours if covered with a two-component (temperature 20°C and 50% RH).
  8. Possibility of sanding PID 60 Marine when it is completely dry in order to obtain a perfectly flat surface before applying the finish.
    If the overcoating period exceeds 5 days, degrease using a solvent such as acetone, sand PID 60 Marine to grade 220-320, then carefully remove the dust with a cloth.
  9. Recommended wet thickness per coat: 150 to 200 microns.
  10. Recommended dry film thickness per coat: 100 to 140 microns.

Destination :

  • Indoors (good ventilation required + solvent mask) and outdoors.
  • Healthy non-oxidized supports (rust bloom accepted) above the waterline.
  • Old paint cleaned and chipped.
    On an old two-component, sand or even sand.
    Another world: metal frames... uses requiring rapid drying (60 minutes).
  • Coverable with an appropriate alkyd-urethane, glycerophthalic or acrylic paint.
    By a two-component type epoxy, polyurethane, etc. (allow a complete drying time, thoroughly, of 6 hours minimum under normal conditions of use: temperature 20°C and 50% RH).

Conditioning :

0.75L, 2.5L and 20L.
