Sikaflex-116 High Grab is a high initial tack construction adhesive that bonds to most building material substrates.

Application

1. After the necessary preparation of the support, prepare the end of the cartridge before or after inserting it into the gun, then attach the nozzle.
2. Apply in cords, strips or dots a few centimeters apart.
3. Use only manual pressure to position the items to be glued, and do so before a skin forms on the glue.
   A misplaced element can be easily peeled off and then repositioned during the first few minutes after application.
4. If necessary, temporarily use tape, shims or supports to hold the assembled components together during the initial curing time.
5. Any fresh, uncured adhesive remaining on the surface must be removed immediately.
   The final strength will be achieved after the complete curing of Sikaflex- 116 High Grab, i.e. after 24 to 48 hours, at 23 °C, depending on environmental conditions and the thickness of the adhesive layer.

FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

1. Can Sikaflex-116 High Grab replace a mechanical fastener (screws, plugs)?
   In many cases, yes, thanks to its very high initial adhesion. For very heavy elements or those subjected to dynamic stresses, additional mechanical support may be necessary.
2. Can it be used outdoors?
   Yes, the glue is resistant to weathering, expansion and vibration. It should not be used in permanent immersion.
3. Is it compatible with polystyrene (EPS, XPS)?
   Yes, it is compatible with most insulation materials without damaging them. Test beforehand if in doubt.
4. What is the consumption per cartridge?
   In 6 mm cords, 8 to 10 meters per cartridge. In 10 mm cords, 3 to 4 meters.
5. Can you paint on it?
   Yes, once polymerized. It is compatible with many paints, but an adhesion test is recommended.
6. How long does it take for the glue to really hold?
   Immediate hold thanks to the High Grab. Lightweight handling, a few hours. Maximum resistance, 24 to 48 hours.
7. Does the glue yellow over time?
   The white version may yellow slightly in direct UV exposure. The grey version is less sensitive to this.
8. Can metal be glued to concrete?
   Yes, Sikaflex-116 High Grab is ideal for mixed materials (metal ↔ mineral).
9. At what temperature can I store the cartridges?
   Between +5°C and +25°C, protected from frost.
10. Can glue fill joints or holes?
    This is not a filler, but it can tolerate slight movement. To fill the gap, use a suitable filler.
