Sikaflex-402 Connection is a one-component, moisture-curing, elastic sealant used to seal many types of joint configurations.

It does not require a primer and has good adhesion to most building materials.
Sikaflex-402 Connection provides a watertight seal with good mechanical properties, remains elastic over a wide temperature range and can be painted.
EC 1 PLUS label: very low VOC emissions.

Application

1. The substrate must be sound, clean, dry, and free from all kinds of contamination such as dirt, oil, grease, laitance, old sealants and poorly or non-adherent coatings which can negatively influence the adhesion of the sealant.
2. The substrate must be strong enough to withstand the stresses caused by the sealant during joint movement. D
3. Removal techniques such as wire brush cleaning, grinding, sandblasting or other suitable mechanical tools may be used.
4. Before applying any activator, primer or sealant, all dust and loose, non-adherent material must be completely removed from all surfaces.
5. Where joints have been ground, after grinding, all suspended materials must be rinsed away and the joint surfaces allowed to dry.
6. SikaHyflex-402 Connection adheres without primers and/or activators.

1. Can Sikaflex-402 Connection be painted?
   Yes, the filler can be painted over with most paints. It is advisable to carry out a test beforehand, as some flexible paints may crack.
2. Can it be used outdoors?
   Yes, it is perfectly resistant to UV rays, weathering, and temperature variations.
3. Can it be used on PVC or aluminum?
   Yes, its adhesion is excellent on smooth surfaces such as rigid PVC, lacquered aluminum, galvanized steel, painted metal.
4. What is the polymerization time?
   The product polymerizes on the surface in 2–4 hours. Complete hardening takes 24 to 48 hours, depending on humidity, temperature and joint thickness.
5. Is Sikaflex-402 Connection suitable for wet areas?
   Yes, it offers very good resistance to moisture. However, for areas that are permanently submerged, a specially designed sealant is recommended.
6. Is the product suitable for moving joints?
   Yes, thanks to its high elasticity, it absorbs expansion, vibration, and structural movements.
7. Can it be used on a damp surface?
   Adhesion is optimal on dry surfaces, but it tolerates a slight level of humidity without standing water.
