X-Scale - Safety descaler for water circuits - Zep Industries

A replacement solution for products based on hydrochloric and sulfamic acid . Acts effectively against limescale, mud and algae that develop and clog the coils, tubes and pipes of any heating or cooling system . Does not attack steel, copper, aluminum and wood .

Properties :

• Works effectively against limescale, silt and algae that develop and clog the coils, tubes and pipes of any heating or cooling system.
• Does not contain hydrochloric or sulfamic acid which attack steel, copper or aluminum. Do not attack the wood.
• Can be left for 24 to 48 hours without harm to the equipment.
• Does not emit corrosive vapors.
• Very concentrated and effective product at very low concentrations.
• Contains a descaling indicator, when the X-Scale turns from red to blue, you know there is additional limescale that needs to be neutralized.
• 1 L of product can dissolve up to 1 kg of limescale.

Applications:

Maintenance in climate engineering, HLM, schools, industries, communities, hotels, supermarkets. Maintenance of security systems, water tanks, tanks.

Manual :

1 - Drain the water completely and remove all large deposits, rinse thoroughly with new water.

2 - Refill the system with new water up to the normal working level using the solution indicated in the Dilution Table.

• Boilers: If there is a lot of limescale, use dilution I. If there is little, use dilution II. Open a valve to reduce pressure and heat up to 80-90°C. Allow natural convection to circulate the solution for at least 1 hour.
• Cooling tower: Use solution III. (If possible, heat with steam up to 60°C). Allow the system to work normally for 24 hours without making any additions (Avoid prolonged contact with galvanized steel or zinc parts).
• Hot water systems: Add solution II and heat to normal temperature (do not exceed 90°C). If possible, circulate the solution for 30-60 min. If this is not possible, leave in contact for at least 1 hour to allow circulation by natural convection.

3 - After letting the product act for the desired time, observe the color of the solution. The fresh solution is red, then turns orange and finally turns blue as the acid is used up. The solution is still orange: Leave the solution to work for another 20 to 30 minutes or until the parts are free of deposits. The solution is blue: The acid has been consumed and there is still limescale in the system. Drain the system and repeat the treatment as described in paragraph 2.

4 - After the final treatment, drain the system and fill it with new water. Hot water tanks should be rinsed well before filling them with new water. For boilers and towers, a water treatment product must be added.
