SikaCeram-204 Medium - Medium ceramic tile adhesive - Sika

SikaCeram-204 Medium is an improved cement -based adhesive for bonding medium-sized ceramic tiles.

It can be applied in layer thickness up to 10 mm and is suitable for floors and walls in residential environments, both indoors and outdoors.
Class C2TE according to EN 12004.

Application areas

SikaCeram-204 Medium is suitable for bonding the following types of tiles:

• All types of medium-sized ceramic tiles
• Terracotta tiles

The SikaCeram-204 Medium can be applied inside and outside, on the following supports:

• Plaster or cement based substrates
• Old ceramic tiles indoors, treated with SikaFloor- 01 Primer or SikaFloor- 02 primer
• Indoor heated floors

Application

1. SikaCeram-204 Medium is applied with a notched trowel.
2. The quantity of product must be sufficient to completely "wet" the back side of the tiles.
3. Lay the tiles in the fresh adhesive, exerting adequate pressure to guarantee complete and uniform contact with the adhesive and therefore perfect adhesion.
4. If a film forms on the surface of the adhesive, remove the layer of adhesive with a trowel and then apply a new layer of adhesive.
5. Stop using the removed glue. Avoid application in direct sunlight and/or in strong winds/draughts.
6. SikaCeram-204 Medium is specially designed for laying non-absorbent tiles up to 3600 cm² (eg 60 x 60 cm) indoors, and up to 1600 cm² (eg 40 x 40 cm) for exterior tiles.
7. For laying tiles larger than 900 cm² (eg 30 x 30 cm), it is always mandatory to apply the double-sided bonding technique (buttering and floating).

Consumption

Consumption always depends on the profile and roughness of the support, as well as the laying technique (simple bonding by applying a layer on the surface, or double-sided bonding with an additional layer on the back side of the tiles) .
