Purigo Sol - Film-forming surface hardener and dust suppressant - Sika

Purigo Sol is a white, ready-to-use liquid based on synthetic resin and active mineral compounds .

Features

• Hardening by reaction with the lime of the cement to form mineral compounds which are distributed in the crystalline structure of the hardened mortar.
• Strong reduction of dust thanks to the coating of the grains by the polymerizable resin which penetrates over a few millimeters.
• Reduction of porosity and capillarity by formation of hydrated insoluble salts which block pores and capillaries.
• Increased chemical resistance, a consequence of the previous effects: Purigo Sol provides better protection against diluted fats, oils, organic acids and bases.

Application areas

• Purigo Sol is used for the superficial reinforcement of screeds and floor coatings, new or old, in order to improve their resistance to abrasion and make them easier to clean.
• Purigo Sol hardens the surface of mortars or limestone facings that must withstand aggressive environments (marine, industrial or urban atmosphere).

Application

1. The support must be clean and dry.
2. New mortars will be at least 7 days old.
3. In particular, they will be freed from traces of oil, grease, paint, etc.
4. They must have sufficient mechanical resistance:
   a cohesion of at least 1 N/mm² in the direct tensile test.
   a compressive strength of at least 25 N/mm².
5. Purigo Sol cannot overcome a lack of mechanical strength or a low cement content in the substrate.
6. Purigo Sol is applied in a single impregnation by roller, brush or spray.
7. Avoid overconsumption and drippings.

Consumption

Variable according to the porosity of the support.
As an indication, the average consumption on mortar or concrete is 0.150 to 0.300 l/m².
Excessive consumption can cause whitish efflorescences.
