SikaGard-706 Thixo - Hydrophobic impregnation gel - Sika

Sikagard-706 Thixo is a gel of impregnation-component based on reactive silane. The product, solvent-free, contains ~ 80% of active substances. Sikagard-706 Thixo complies with the highest standard in 1504-2 products requirements of hydrophobation (class of penetration II & resistance to frost and ice control salt).

Areas of application

For waterproofing (hydrophobation) of absorbent material such as concrete road, concrete of hydraulic buildings or concrete structures subjected to periods of high loads, the cycles freeze-thaw, the chloride in environmental - lie maritime, etc.

• Suitable for protection against penetration (principle 1: method 1.1 of the standard EN 1504-9).
• Suitable for control of moisture (principle 2, method 2.1 of the standard EN 1504-9).
• Suitable for the increase in resilience (principle 8, 8.1 of EN 1504-9 standard method).

Application

Sikagard-706 Thixo is applied to the airless spray low pressure, the brush or roller, in one pass and working from top down.

Preparation of the surface

The cleaning of the support must be achieved by means of appropriate cleaning or light sanding, light steam cleaning, etc.
The best results are obtained on dry, very absorbent supports. The support must be dry and free from wetlands.

Consumption

The consumption depends on the porosity of the support and the desired penetration depth: ~ 200 to 300 g/m² per layer.

Cleaning of the equipment

Clean all tools to the Sika Colma Reiniger immediately after use. The cured product won't come off more than mechanically.
