Controlbox IT Plus Benor Capture and Infiltration System

The Variobox IT plus® is a new step forward in the development of highly effective infiltration and retention systems
functional and efficient.
With its virtually unbeatable price-performance ratio, this system sets a new standard. Thanks to its flexibility in terms of format, configuration, and functionality, the Variobox IT plus® system adapts to all situations, whether used alone or in combination.
with the Controlbox IT plus®.

The IT Plus® Controlbox unit is made of PP (polypropylene) and consists of four equal permeable walls. The IT Plus® Controlbox was specifically developed for use in large-scale applications. To optimize inspection and maintenance, the system offers access up to 500 mm. The system is part of a sustainable water management system and is used to collect, convey, and infiltrate rainwater from roofs, streets, parking lots, or any paved surface. The IT Plus® Controlbox system is 100% compatible with the IT Plus® Variobox and offers numerous maintenance and inspection options.

The system can, of course, also serve as a temporary retention basin. In this case, drainage needs to be regulated and the geotextile must be replaced with an EPDM membrane.

The Variobox IT plus® system stands out from traditional drainage systems (gravel and drainage pipes) by its very advantageous purchase price, superior quality, longevity and above all its high capacity for capture and drainage.
Its other advantages include being able to be assembled both in height (up to DN 500) and in width, having very high resistance to loads at a shallow depth, a retention capacity of 95% and 3D permeability.

In combination with Controlbox IT plus®, the Variobox IT plus® system can also be easily inspected and maintained.

FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

  1. What is the purpose of a capture and infiltration system?
It allows rainwater to be collected and gradually reintroduced into the ground, preventing the overloading of sewers and promoting sustainable water management.
  2. Is the Controlbox IT Plus certified?
Yes, it is BENOR certified, guaranteeing controlled quality, high resistance and compliance with Belgian standards.
  3. Can this system be installed under a driveway?
Yes, but it depends on the configuration, the backfill, and the type of load. There are versions designed to withstand heavy loads. A preliminary study is recommended.
  4. What is the difference between infiltration and retention?
Infiltration: water returns to the ground via a permeable geotextile. Retention: water is temporarily stored in a watertight structure with regulated outflow.
  5. Does the system need maintenance?
Minimal maintenance is recommended, including cleaning the collection system (inspection chamber, pre-filter, grid) and periodic inspection of the pipes. Buried modules generally do not require direct maintenance.
  6. How many modules are needed for a project?
This depends on the surface area to be drained, the soil type (permeability), and the infiltration or storage requirements. Sizing must be carried out according to local regulations or the manufacturer's recommendations.
  7. Can the system be combined with a rainwater cistern?
Yes, it can be used as a supplement to infiltration if the cistern overflows or if the collected surface area is large.
  8. What is the lifespan of the modules?
Thanks to the reinforced structure and BENOR certification, the lifespan exceeds several decades, if the installation is correct.
  9. Is the system compatible with clay soil?
Yes, but infiltration will be limited. In this case, a buffer tank with regulated drainage is often chosen.
  10. What accessories should I plan for?
Geotextile or geomembrane, collection pipes and inspection chambers. Pre-filter or settling tank to limit the arrival of sediments.
