Alkoxy neutral silicone sealant specially developed for use in high humidity areas and for sanitary applications.

This high-quality , neutral-curing sanitary silicone offers excellent adhesion to various surfaces, guarantees a watertight and durable seal, and is mold- resistant.

The surface must be rigid, clean, dry, dust-free and grease-free.

• Preparing the support:

Silirub 2 AT-S has good adhesion to most substrates. However, for optimal adhesion and in critical applications, such as joints exposed to extreme weather conditions, heavily loaded joints, or joints loaded with water, it is recommended to follow a pretreatment procedure.

• • Clean non-porous surfaces with Soudal Surface Cleaner .
  • Apply Primer 150 to porous surfaces. If necessary, non-porous surfaces can be prepared with a Soudal activator or cleaner (see technical data sheet).

All substrates must be tested to ensure they are suitable in terms of adhesion and compatibility.

• Media type:

It has good adhesion to the following surfaces: all common building materials, ceramic tiles, fire-resistant paint, stainless steel, acrylic baths, glass, copper, brass, etc.

It is not suitable for PE, PP, PTFE, bituminous substrates.

Instructions for use:

• Application method:

It is important to ensure good ventilation in the areas where the product is applied. Continue to ventilate throughout the curing time.

• • Apply the product using a manual, pneumatic or battery-powered caulking gun.
  • Apply the product evenly without air inclusions in the joint.
  • Smooth the joint with a spatula using a finishing solution.

Avoid getting any finishing solution between the wall and the sealant (to avoid possible detachment at the edge).

• Cleaning method:

Clean with Soudal Surface Cleaner or Soudal Swipex immediately after use. It can only be removed mechanically.

• Finishing method:

With Soudal Smoothing Product before film coating.

FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

1. Does Silirub 2 AT-S yellow over time?
   No, its neutral and stabilized formula is highly resistant to UV rays and humidity. The white version retains its shine for a long time.
2. Can it be used in a shower or spa?
   Yes, it is perfectly suited and recommended for all very humid areas or areas in constant contact with water.
3. Is the sealant compatible with natural stone surfaces?
   It is neutral, but for natural stone (marble, bluestone, etc.), it is advisable to use a silicone specifically formulated for natural stone (such as Silirub MA). If in doubt, perform a test beforehand.
4. Can the Silirub 2 AT-S be painted?
   No, like all sanitary silicones, it cannot be painted over. Choose the right color from the start.
5. How long before filling with water?
   You have to wait about 24 hours, depending on the ambient humidity and temperature.
6. Does the product give off strong odors?
   Very little. Thanks to the EC1 Plus label, it has extremely low emissions, making it suitable for sensitive interiors.
7. Should a primer be applied before use?
   In most cases, no. Silirub 2 AT-S adheres very well to non-porous surfaces.
