Stone water repellent - Akemi

Silicone- based impregnation that penetrates deep into the stone , making it hydrophobic without reducing its vapor permeability.
This product protects facades from driving rain , makes them water-repellent and also prevents the encrustation of dirt.

Features :

• Extreme reduction of water and dirt absorption under the action of humidity
• Quick release of moisture during a dry period thanks to a large opening of the vapor diffusion
• Preservation of breathability, as there is no coating on the surface
• UV resistant
• As a general rule, the color of the stone is not changed (do a test beforehand)
• Yield: approx. 5 to 20 m²/L depending on absorbency.

Use :

1. Optimal conditions for impregnation are: floor and ambient temperature between 15 and 25°C as well as 24-hour rain protection. The surface must not be heated either by underfloor heating or direct sunlight.
2. Cracks up to 0.3 mm are closed by impregnation.
3. For absorbent surfaces, a double wet-on-wet application is recommended.
4. A mop such as AKEMI Impregnation Application Mop or, on small surfaces, AKEMI Impregnation Application Pad, is recommended for a professional and uniform application of the product.
   On facades by the flooding method, an airless sprayer can be used with low pressure (max. 1 bar) and a nozzle distance of 5 to 10 cm (condition: pipes and seals resistant to solvents).
   The impregnation is thus applied until it flows over 40 to 50 cm.
5. About 20 minutes after application, before the impregnation dries on the surface, the excess that is not absorbed must be completely wiped off the stone with a suitable cloth or e.g. with AKEMI Finish Mop, so that no residue remains on the surface.
   Polished surfaces should be re-polished in addition to removing any surface haze.
6. In case of reduced effectiveness or irregular application, you can easily repeat an application.
   The hydrophobic effect appears after about 24-48 hours and effectiveness is achieved after about 1 week.
7. Tools can be cleaned with AKEMI Nettoyant A.
