Epoxy light primer - Primer for all surfaces - Vosschemie Soloplast

Epoxy light primer is a high quality bi-component epoxy primer based on polyamide.

• The hardened layer has a very high strength and provides a good barrier against water. The hardened layer does not allow water (steam) to pass through.
• Does not need to be sanded between coats.

Applications:

• The product is used on hard surfaces as a water protection layer, on polyester as osmosis prevention and on metal as rust protection.
• Light Primer can also be applied to plywood, hardwood and aluminum.
• Is a good primer for paint and antifouling.
• Tint:

Treatment :

1. Depending on surface and quality, sandblasting or sanding.
2. The surface must be clean, dry and free of grease.
3. Treat only from 10°C.
4. Mix the two components in a 5:1 volume ratio and use within 4-6 hours.
5. Dry after 3-4 hours at 20°C. Cured after 7 days.
6. When used as a primer for antifouling, the first coat of antifouling should be applied over the last coat of Light Primer while this primer coat is still tacky. (at 20°C approx. 1-2 hours)
7. When this time is exceeded, either sand the layer of Light Primer (180 grit) or apply a new thin layer of primer (to avoid sanding).
8. If the product is used as an adhesive primer, the first coat should be thinned 30-50% with an epoxy thinner.
9. The next coat can be applied undiluted (or thinned up to 5-25% for better flow with a brush and 5-50% with a spray gun).
10. If a filling is necessary, it is recommended to do it after the first diluted coat of Light Primer (adhesive primer).

Tip : During the 2nd application of Light Primer, you can color the product with 1 to 2 drops of epoxy pigment (or PU pigment) per litre.
This way you can check if you have painted everything. You can also alternatively apply first a coat of white primer and then a coat of light gray primer.
On polyester boats, Light Primer penetrates well into the pores if the first coat is diluted and applied with a short-haired brush (mohair roller), also when spraying afterwards.

• Contains xylene (mixture of isomers) and is flammable.
• It is harmful by inhalation and in contact with the skin.
• Irritating to eyes.
• Always wear appropriate protective clothing and gloves.
• It is recommended to wear a carbon filter mask.
• Keep out of reach of children.
• In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and consult a doctor.
• If swallowed, seek medical advice immediately and show this container or label.
• Tool Cleaner: Light Primer Thinner or M Cleaner (Eco-friendly substitute for acetone.)
