FA201 - Sanitary and cooling silicone - Illbruck

FA201 is a neutral silicone sealant that reticulates with moisture from the air to quickly form a flexible and resistant seal.

Easy to implement, it smoothes perfectly. It is resistant to temperature variations, aging and UV.

It contains an antifungal against mold and has a very good adhesion on vitrified and synthetic surfaces.

FA201 has better resistance to yellowing in areas with low UV exposure, for example in bathrooms without natural light.

Advantage: 

• Anti-fungal treatment.
• Odorless and non-corrosive.
• Do not turn yellow.
• Neutral compatible with all surfaces.

Preparation: 

• In the case of application with an air gun, the maximum pressure should be 3 bar.
• The supports must be strong, dry, dusted, degreased and free of non-stick agents.
• The cleaning of non-absorbent supports must be carried out using a suitable Illbruck cleaner.
• On specific, painted or fragile supports, it is recommended to carry out tests beforehand.
• The use of an AT101 or AT120 primer is generally not required, however, it may be necessary in the case of adhesion difficulty or to achieve long-lasting optimal adhesion performance. In this case, we recommend the AT101 primer for absorbent supports, and the AT120 for non-absorbent supports.
• Preparation of media according to the specifications of NF DTU 44.1.

Implementation: 

• Set up a joint bottom adapted to the determined depth. Joint bottoms must be compatible with FA201 according to DTU 44.1. Seal bottoms containing oil, tar, as well as materials based on natural rubber, chloroprene or EPDM are not suitable.
• To obtain an impeccable appearance, we recommend placing an adhesive tape on either side of the seal, extruding the FA201 in the seal, taking care to fill it completely
• Tighten and smooth the sealant using the AA310 smoothing spatula. This step can be facilitated by spraying a little AA300 smoothing liquid on the spatula or on the fresh putty (mixture: 1 to 2 caps per 1 liter of water). Smoothing must be done imperatively before the formation of skin to ensure a good adhesion on the lips of the joint.
• Immediately remove the adhesive tapes to avoid tearing the sealant on the surface.
• In the case of an angle application in a sanitary environment, ensure that there is no retention. Give a shape to the sealant facilitating cleaning.
• In the case of a cold room application, ensure implementation and maintenance in accordance with DTU45.1 (thermal insulation of refrigerated buildings).

Hygiene and safety precautions

• Keep out of reach of children.
• Avoid contact with skin and eyes.

Cleaning: 

• FA201 still fresh and not cross-linked is removed using the AA404 or AA409 cleaner.
• For a cross-linked sealant, only the use of mechanical means (e.g. razor blade) allows cleaning.

Conditioning: 

• Cartridge of 310 ml.
• Color: white, gray, transparent.
