FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Can cold asphalt be used in winter?
Yes, Tinascoat 0/5 remains workable even in cold temperatures and can be applied all year round.
  2. What is the drying time?
Cold asphalt doesn't "dry" like mortar. It hardens gradually under the influence of traffic and time. Light traffic: immediate hardening. Heavy traffic: a few days for optimal compaction.
  3. Is mechanical compaction necessary?
Recommended, but not essential. A vehicle visit is often sufficient for minor repairs.
  4. Can it be used on concrete?
Yes, preferably by applying a bituminous primer to improve adhesion.
  5. How to store an opened bag?
Seal tightly and store away from air and heat. The product remains usable for several weeks.
  6. What is the maximum recommended thickness?
It is recommended to proceed in layers of 3 to 5 cm, compacting each layer for optimal durability.
  7. Is the finish black like a classic asphalt surface?
Yes, it takes on a natural bituminous black tint, which stabilizes over time.
  8. Is it suitable for industrial car parks?
Yes, provided that careful compaction is respected and several layers are applied for high-stress areas.
  9. Can we walk on it immediately?
Yes, pedestrian traffic can be opened immediately.
